A mother
is a person
who
seeing there are only
four pieces of pie
for five people
promptly
announces
she never did care
for pie
*
Nobody
can do
for little children
what
grandparents do
Grandparents
sort of
sprinkle stardust
over
the lives
of
little children
*
Grandma always
made you feel
she had been waiting
to see just you
all day
and now
the day
was
complete
*
Perfect love
sometimes
does not come
until
the first grandchild
welsh proverb
*
Being
a mother
of
FOUR
who are
grown-ups
and
a grandmother
of little
EVA
10 months now
is
quite an
experience
*
today
my Elisabeth
28 years young
is having her
FIFTH
chemo
because she was diagnosed
with breastcancer
in november 2011.
Five chemo's allready
and
ONLY ONE TO GO
after this .
*
She is so brave
and doing the best she can
having one breast and
no hair ......
*
You would think
when this happens
a mother is going to take care
like when children were little.
*
No such thing
My daugther is 28
and wants to live her own life
and seeing
how difficult it all is
for her mother
is
not what helps
*
I had this
kind of romantic idea
of being a sort of
Florence Nightingale
and cuddle her
as much as I could .
*
She wanted needed space
and I saw
she found her way
in all of this
*
She is still
the bright and sparkling
Elisabeth
and
I
can be her mother
and cuddle
and admire
her courage !
*
lets think
of mothers
and grandmothers
and
live and love life
as it is
SURPRISINGLY
WONDERFUL

Lia
You are just beautiful. You are a writer with a story. MANY STORIES my dear one. How wise of you to see your daughter as a woman who must live her own life, have her space. How wise of you that you see you CAN cuddle her courage and vision. But never forget that when the time comes, she will want to COME TO CUDDLE YOU BACK......YOU, ENTIRELY. But life has its cycles and that is just the way it is....but it is beautiful, this life, isn't it?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenMUCH LOVE TO YOU BOTH MY BEAUTIFUL FRANCIS! Anita
This is beautiful today...and soooo wise indeed. You must give grown children space...and they will come when they need you. I find my married daughter tends to call me up everytime she has a problem...it does feel good to be needed. You will always be in her life and now you have sweet Eva too...what fun. One day I hope for a sweet little grandchild...it will be such a blessing.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYou take care of yourself...sometimes when we are so busy we forget to take care of US. Love to you always. xoxoxo
Beautiful, moving words about mothers and grandmothers, and so true. I especially love and relate to the welsh proverb. Sending warm wishes to you and your brave daughter. Take care of yourself too.

My darling friend,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYOU are special. Thank you for coming by and being number ONE. Each one of YOU and each one of US should always be number one as we listen, take a moment to connect and be friends, because our time is short. You have made an impact on me with your words, your kindness and your care for your loved ones. Your letters to me have meant the world to me and I so wish I had the time at the moment to WRITE. But you know what?I will be learning calligraphy. I have also resigned from my full-time teaching job and I will work as a substitute teacher next year while I hope to dedicate TIME to my writing and art.
MUCH LOVE TO YOU DEAREST ONE, Anita
You are just such an amazing woman, Francis, and Elisabeth is so amazing and brave too. I only wish I could give her a hug in person. May God be with both of you during this difficult time. This post you wrote very well, and your words just flowed onto your blog. I don't have grandchildren yet, but one day, I hope. You are always there for Elisabeth, and I am sure she knows that. She is so very special, indeed.

You wonderful and marvelous friend, for coming to just BE with me. Please read my post when you have a quiet moment, listen to the music, and if you are not able to READ BETWEEN the lines, I resigned from teaching full time. I am just not big enough for the job. But I do think I have a lot of learning ahead of me, and that is what I seek.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHUGS TO YOU MY DEAR ONE, Anita
DANK U DANK U DANK U!!!!!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYou are so right. There is a LIVING element to TEACHING that I came to love. But BUSINESS and CUTTING BACK on valuable help makes it so difficult for those of us fortunate to have stayed behind to make ENDS MEET. Children need more than ONE tired and over-worked teacher who is pulled from one side to another....so I am done. However, I will be a substitute. Luckily, because I speak French, I will have a LOT of work, when I want it. The rest of the time, I will be working HARD to make myself known as a local artist, providing services for bridal salons, and other events. Then my writing. Well, it will take the lifetime I have left to master that...but it is all worth it to me.
You are precious.
but they are still our children right? It is very hard for me to stand back.
BeantwoordenVerwijderengood luck with all the chemo ....I will pray for her and you and your whole family tonight.
you give such a wonderful grandmother recommendation!! My oldest daughter got married in Sept....but no pressure like you said...just give them space.
happy weekend!
Cool Style & Blog!!!! xoxo

Thinking of you, Francis. You and Elisabeth are such an inspiration. Each of you is on this journey, together and individually. You are an amazing mother and she a courageous daughter.
