words that define what you're doing

*
today
I saw a documtary
about
DOYALD YOUNG
I never heard of him
but
my youngest son's girlfriend
send me a link
to see it .

I was so so
DEEPLY MOVED
not only
by seeing the documentary
but
maybe even more
because
it was because of this
young girl
I am just starting to get to know
and we share
something
unique

THE LOVE
for lettering !

recognising
things
I also do and love
in this documentary
was something
that was
wonderful

I love
WORDS
their sound or meaning
I always look words up
in my dictionary
I love learning new words
in THIS language
by reading blogs I love

because
it's not JUST
the words
It's the person
behind the words
too
that matters
to me

I was searching for a way
I could get to know
this wonderful girl
my newest daughter-in-law
She is modest and calmly
and most of the times
we met all the other ones
were here also
so FULL HOUSE
and
so
I wondered
HOW
can I get to know her better.

I always LOVED
that when I was a teacher
and a new child came in my group
I always loved
the searching to get a band
to wait
and look
and be patience
and find
A WAY

always
a SURPRISE

With her
I suddenly decided
to send her POST
real snail-mail
old fashioned handwritten mail.

and
she loved it
she also LOVES snailmail
and handwriting !

She send me the link
and I could not believe
this miracle

If you love
handwriting too
and also
the passion of the man
take some time
and watch

be surprised

  1. My dear friend,

I too am passionate about the written word. I love the grammar, etymology, syntax and the sound, the look of letters that put together, make this string of MEANINGS.

Though I do not WRITE hand-written letters anymore, I am learning to make TIME aside for such arts, but for the time being, I have to learn HOW TO CRAFT a good poem. But we still have these things in common, you and me, and I hope that you know how much I cherish your gifts!

    Enjoy and START WRITING! Anita

  4. Francis,
I love to write also, and I think it's great that you look up new words and meanings because we learn so much that way. I am still one of those people who send handwritten cards and notes. In fact, I just sent one to my mother-in-law.

I love how you call it snail-mail hehehehe.

    Love,
    ~Sheri

  5. WOW.....those words, those FRENCH SOUNDS, WORDS, MEANINGS.....and to think that Barbara makes books of SILK? How perfect is that, that such graceful language can be etched onto a smooth surface of silk. Oh how wonderful of a gift you have left me today, your words, her words, YOUR FRIENDSHIP. I am LOVING my birthday as I sit alone today in my home, with snow outside to shine into my home.

Many big hugs to you lieve zuster, vriendin! Anita
