old and new

*
All that is GOLD
does not glitter

not all those who WANDER
are LOST

The old that is STRONG
does not WITHER

deep ROOTS are not reached
by the FROST

from the ASHES
a FIRE shall be woken

a LIGHT from the shadows
shall spring

RENEWED shall be blade
that was BROKEN

The crownless AGAIN
shall be KING

J.R.R. Tolkien

I am learning
to have patience
Things take time
I have to ask for help more
and OH I am NOT GOOD
at that at all

old things
new things

old habbits
new ways

old points of view
new ones

Making the best of it

  1. We all have to learn, don't we dearest Francis? I want to thank you for sharing this fantastic poem with me, and now to see it here, I feel so special to have had a glimpse into your mindset for your post!

What is the best part of old and the new is that WE become the NEW, leaving the old self behind. That's the lesson.

BE WELL AND HAVE A SUPER DAY! You can do this, I know you can! Anita

  2. I understand my friend...but we all need each other and these are lessons that shape and mould us into unique beings. It will be your turn to help someone soon enough..your gifts are many...and you are such a good encourager! You bless people everyday! Hugs for a sunshine filled day and a star filled night. xoxoxoxo

  3. Day by day, Francis. We are learning everyday, and hopefully we don't stop learning til the Lord calls us home. Oh, how I loved your poem today.

    Love,

  5. First time to your blog and it is lovely. I'm a huge fan of vintage watering cans and they can be new to me. The poem is so pretty, love it.
