I am a dutch "girl"
who loves to write
and
My dream is
to be able to
express myself
in english
 as well as
 in dutch

*
You should see me
strugling
with my dictionary
feeling desperate
because
translating is not
just look up
the individual words

oh no
I am waiting for
mister postman
to bring me
the book from
my favorite writer
IN ENGLISH translated !
cannot wait

  1. YOU are doing so well. I am impressed with ALL of my Dutch friends who are able to express themselves so beautifully in English. YOU ARE GOING TO DO IT, I KNOW. I did it in French.

Tu sais mon amie, moi aussi, j'ai détruit quelques dictionnaires pendant mes études en français. Le dictionnaire anglais était le seul livre dans ma maison d'enfance. Je le lisait pendant des heures. Ma mère ne savait pas lire mais mon père se passionnait des langues étrangères.

    TU VAS RÉUSSIR!

  2. I think that's the best way to learn language. Reading it, getting immersed on a story. Soon you'll see that your brain changed shifts and is THINKING in that language.
Because language is much more than different words it's what makes the online translators so tricky sometimes.
So glad you embarked another adventure. You're an Inspiration!

  5. I have to say, your English is wonderful, Francis. I understand everything you put out there. I have always wanted to learn a different language too, but it's not simple, as you said. You are brave to learn something new.
